A pretty decent system will only set you back 20 to 30 dollars. Thanks for the reply. It still appears to happen at random usually once in a day but sometimes a couple times in a day or sometimes not for a week. also i do think something is not properly seated. check that

I've got a spare. Mouse will be frozen, any application that is running will freeze, Ctrl + alt + delete does not work etc. This morning I inspected the CPU's existing cooling system and noticed a lot of dust covering the grills underneath the fan, so I cleaned those up. Hopefully Microsoft will fix this in their next Win10 build?
Basically you may want to check that the Thermal paste is correctly applied on the CPU with no gaps, and that it is evenly screwed down. That means running two different OSes on it.
