I know that sounds a bit confusing, that you have a C: drive in Vista and a different C: drive in 7 but, trust me, it works. I have a WD Cavair 250GB SATAII Drive with the OS plugged into Intel orange SATA socket (Channel 0) and a LG DVD-Multiwriter as master on the IDE socket. I might just reformat the whole drive to see if that helps. I just experienced a bad
infection that has caused me to reinstall Win 7. I ended up re-installing Vista on top of the fresh install. the easy way is to remove the jumper connector completely. The bar showing the disk will probably be all black, unless you have partitions on there already, these will be blue.
