In your case, it may be that compatability mode isn't sufficient and it's throwing a blue screen every time. at the very least, the Windows 7 driver from HP's website for that laptop should work for installing Windows 7- same results, does not detect hard drive.At this point I'm wondering Windows 10 Install Not Detecting Hard Drive Thanks so much!!! That fact that you are getting that far indicates that the hard disk is being detected (although C: could be mapping to a different drive such as your DVD). If the hard disk is still invisible after you change the disk controller mode, to wipe hard disk might work.
