I have run into the same exact same issue, and the only solution that I could come up that actually works is to Disable then Enable my audio driver when my Cheers ! Poor audio quality; bad sound In this scenario, the initial troubleshooting step is the same as above i.e. the "Speakers" had not been selected as the default. this website
