We were able to change in the registry, did the reboot and nothing. This will replace all the Windows files. I could have tried an update but I have been doing alot of that lately and need to isolate the problem first.

Note: If you are simply trying to get the Computer, Control Panel, Recycle Bin, Network or User's Files icons back, then you just need to right-click on the desktop, click Personalize, click At the end of the day, it's just a trojan virus lurking around the system. All I will say is press alt control delete twice at the welcome screen, type administrator as username, leave password blank. it's as if there's a veil over my screen that i can't access anything until my power is shutting off.
